Press and media
n-earshot gives every address in Australia a free noise score from 0 to 100, and an Air score, built from public data. Each month it ranks the country's noisiest and quietest suburbs. Everything here may be quoted, with a link to n-earshot.com.

Story angles we can help with
- Any capital city's ten noisiest and quietest suburbs, or a region's.
- A particular suburb: its typical score, what makes the noise and when it is loudest.
- What drives noise in a city: traffic, trains, nightlife, ports, industry or aircraft.
- How the rankings change from month to month.

How the figures are made
- A suburb's score is the median of the free scores of 100 of its homes (ground floor, facing the road), the same homes each month. Only suburbs with 300 or more homes are ranked.
- Each home's score combines tracked flights, road traffic counts, train and tram timetables, licensed venues and crowd precincts, industry, ports, power lines and residents' ratings, all from public data.
- The scores are estimates of typical noise, not sound measurements. A suburb's score is its typical home's: streets within it can be much louder or quieter.
- The Air score measures the pollution sources near a home, not health. Bushfire smoke is left out.
Every source and formula: how the score works.
